This section showcases Erika’s ability to conduct, synthesize, and report on quantitative and qualitative research for a variety of audiences. These projects emphasize her leadership and ability to work on teams, and show a working knowledge of university branding and marketing guidelines.
Data Assessment Report
Goal: a formal data report on the University of Findlay’s College Credit Plus Program in English 104 and 106 for the academic semesters spanning Fall 2017-Fall of 2023. The focus was on comparing the grade distribution between courses offered in the high school versus on campus.
Finding: the group found that off campus passing grades are usually higher, though more research needs to be done to account for class size and meeting frequency as high schools meet daily, and on-campus courses meet only two to three times a week.
Process: a formal collaboration with a team to filter the relevant data provided by the University of Findlay. While all members approved the content, Erika focused on the introduction, and creating the graphs. The report was compiled in Canva and followed pre-established university branding.
Five Rhetorical Canons Video
Goal: create a series of videos on the five rhetorical cannons according to Cicero. These videos are to showcase experiences available through the Rhetoric and Writing Masters program and act as a resource for freshman composition classes.
Process: after scripting the videos individually, the team worked on the theme and style of the scripts and slides for consistency across videos and compliance with university branding. Scripts and PowerPoints were peer reviewed multiple times and approved by the marketing department before publication. While all members of the team contributed, Erika specifically worked on the video titled “Memory”, and standardized a catchphrases subtitle across all videos.
